You’ve Lost Your Credibility in Politics, You’re No Longer a Battalion” – Wike Mocks Amaechi
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Saturday mocked former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, declaring that he has lost his credibility in politics and is “no longer a battalion.”

Wike made the statement in Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, while attending a civic reception organised in his honour by the Ikwerre people.
The FCT Minister was accompanied to the event by the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate and Member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Honourable Ogundu Kingsley Chinda, whom Wike’s camp has projected as the incoming Governor of Rivers State.
Addressing the gathering, Wike took a direct swipe at Amaechi, telling him he had forfeited his political standing and no longer commanded the influence or strength he once did.
The civic reception in Ikwerre LGA comes against the backdrop of the long-running political rivalry between the two former Rivers governors. It also coincides with heightened political activities in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Wike’s appearance alongside Chinda in the heart of Ikwerre land further underscored the minister’s continued influence in the politics of Rivers State and his endorsement of the lawmaker as the preferred successor to the current administration.
