Oyo Police Arrest Suspected Drug Dealers, Recover Eight Parcels Hidden In Car Tyre
The suspects were arrested following intelligence received by the command concerning the activities of a suspected drug dealer operating from a vulcaniser’s shop.
The Oyo State Police Command has arrested two suspected drug peddlers and recovered eight parcels of weeds suspected to be “Canadian Loud” allegedly concealed inside a car tyre.

According to a statement issued on Saturday by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, the command received the intelligence on September 2, 2026.
The Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, subsequently directed operatives of the Anti-Narcotics Section to move against the suspected drug peddler.
The police said its operatives proceeded to the vulcaniser’s shop where they arrested two suspects and recovered eight parcels of weeds suspected to be Canadian Loud concealed inside a car tyre.
A vulcanising machine allegedly used to conceal the substances was also recovered as an exhibit.

The command said the operation was part of its intelligence-led efforts to disrupt criminal networks and prevent illicit drugs from contributing to insecurity in the state.
Following their arrest, the suspects were interrogated and allegedly confessed to their respective involvement in the activities.
Police said the suspects were currently assisting investigators with the ongoing investigation.
The command added that the suspects would be charged to court after the conclusion of the investigation, while efforts were ongoing to identify and arrest other alleged members of the syndicate.
The police said the recovery reinforced its position that tackling drug trafficking was an important component of the broader fight against crime in the state.
According to the command, the proliferation of illicit drugs could contribute to violence and other crimes, including cultism, robbery, kidnapping and organised criminal activities.
“The Command remains committed to disrupting such networks and calls on members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information that can assist in making Oyo State safer,” the statement added.
