PDP Candidate, Afrika Unveils 60-Man Campaign Structure Ahead of Ondo Assembly Election, Appoints Bademosi DG

Akure, Ondo State: The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Ondo State House of Assembly, Akure South Constituency 1, Kehinde Patrick Olorunyemi, popularly known as “Afrika,” has inaugurated a 60-member campaign committee as his campaign organisation begins full-scale grassroots mobilisation ahead of the forthcoming election.
The campaign structure is headed by Hon. Taiwo Bademosi, the former Special Assistance to the former Governor of Ondo State. Director-General, while Comr. Oyinlusi Sola serves as Secretary and Comr. Olasunkanmi Pelebe as Director of Campaign Strategy and Planning.
The committee, comprising 60 members, is expected to drive mobilisation across the wards, polling units and communities that make up Akure South Constituency 1.
Speaking during the inauguration, Afrika expressed confidence in the capacity, loyalty and political experience of the committee members, stressing that the structure was established to pursue victory rather than merely participate in the electoral contest.
“We are ready. This is not a campaign built around noise; it is a movement built around the people. My greatest strength is the masses, and I believe strongly in their power to determine who represents them,” Afrika stated.
The PDP candidate also highlighted his longstanding connection with Akure, describing himself as a true son of the city, born to Akure parents and deeply involved in grassroots political engagement over the years.
According to him, his experience, antecedents and understanding of the constituency position him strongly in the race.
“I know our people, I understand our communities, and I understand the challenges confronting them. I have been on the ground, and I have built relationships with the people long before this election. Among the contenders, my antecedents and experience speak for me.

The inauguration of the 60-member committee signals the formal activation of the Afrika/WeCare’27 campaign organisation, with the campaign expected to intensify its grassroots engagement in the coming days.
