Police Arrest Three Suspected Members Of Armed Robbery, Car-Snatching Syndicate, Recover Two Vehicles
The Nigeria Police Force has arrested three suspected key members of an armed robbery and car-snatching syndicate allegedly operating across Kaduna State and the Federal Capital Territory, recovering two vehicles during the operations.
In a statement signed by CSP Ani Iniedu, Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, on Sunday, August 30, 2026, the police said operatives of the Special Tactical Squad (STS) carried out coordinated operations between August 14 and 19, leading to the arrest of the suspects.
The suspects were identified as Ahmed Saidu, also known as Diamond ‘M’; Alex Gabriel, also known as Junior ‘M’; and Ahmed Mahudu, also known as Diamond ‘M’.
The police said the arrests followed actionable intelligence concerning a series of armed robbery incidents involving the alleged snatching of vehicles at gunpoint.
“During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to their involvement in the criminal activities and implicated one Yakubu Yewa, a.k.a. Y/Come, who is identified as the kingpin of the syndicate,” the statement said.
According to the police, investigation revealed that Yewa is currently being held at the Kuje Correctional Centre, where he is standing trial for armed robbery.
“Further investigation indicates that the alleged kingpin coordinated and directed the syndicate’s armed robbery operations, as well as the disposal of stolen vehicles both within Nigeria and outside the country,” the statement added.

The police said the operations also resulted in the recovery of two vehicles, comprising a red Toyota Corolla and an army-colour Volkswagen Golf 3.
The Force said investigations were ongoing as efforts continued to dismantle the alleged criminal network and establish the full extent of its activities.
“The Nigeria Police Force reaffirms its commitment to dismantling criminal networks, protecting lives and property, and ensuring that perpetrators of violent crimes are brought to justice,” the statement said.
