Drug Rumours, Mysterious Illness and Cancer: The Untold Health Struggles of Ogogo
Veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, endured serious health challenges long before his final battle with cancer.
In the 1990s, he suffered a mysterious illness that reportedly caused him to lose significant weight. During the period, rumours circulated linking his condition to drug use, including an allegation that he had ingested cocaine. Ogogo denied the claims and was never established as a drug offender.
Years later, he revealed that the illness lasted for several years and became so severe that he survived on pap for months while seeking treatment.
After recovering, Ogogo returned to acting and continued a career spanning several decades. In 2026, he faced another devastating health battle after his family disclosed that he was suffering from stage-four cancer.
He died on 23rd August 2026, at the age of 66, bringing to an end a life marked by both remarkable achievements and painful health struggles.
