Edo Govt breaks silence over Banning Davido From Entering State

The Edo State Government has denied reports that it has banned Afrobeat singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, from entering the state.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Kassim Afegbua, made this known in a statement on Friday.

The clarification followed comments by the Senior Special Assistant on Digital Media to Governor Monday Okpebholo, Apostle Kassy Chukwu, who reportedly said Davido should not expect to perform in Edo State for the rest of the governor’s tenure.

Chukwu made the statement in a video shared on YouTube by Peniel TV International Benin City on Thursday, amid an ongoing dispute between the singer and the governor.
