Jubilation As Jowizaza’s Father Regains Freedom After 11 Days In Kidnappers’ Captivity

Chief J. J. Ezeokafor, father of socialite Eberechukwu Ezeokafor, popularly known as Jowizaza, has regained his freedom after being abducted by armed criminals in Anambra State.

The Anambra State Police Command confirmed the safe release of the businessman and a Rev. Sister who were abducted at Ifite-Awka.

Ezeokafor was kidnapped in the early hours of Tuesday, August 4, after leaving his residence for a prayer ground in Awka.

Confirming their release in a statement, the command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the police were taking necessary steps to establish the circumstances surrounding the victims’ freedom and gather information that could aid the ongoing investigation.

Ikenga said the information would also assist security operatives in identifying and apprehending those behind the abduction.

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, commended the safe return of the victims and ordered intensified intelligence-led operations and a manhunt for the perpetrators.

The operation involves the Police, Department of State Services (DSS), Military, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Agunechemba Security Operatives and other relevant security agencies.
