Interior Minister, Tunji-Ojo Engages Ondo Community, Nigerians in Canada, Highlights Interior Ministry Reforms

Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, on Thursday, August 13, 2026, engaged members of the Ondo State community and Nigerians at large in Canada during an interactive session focused on national development, governance and the progress being recorded under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The interactive session provided an opportunity for Nigerians in the diaspora to engage directly with the Minister, who responded to questions and concerns raised by participants on a wide range of issues relating to the Ministry of Interior.
Tunji-Ojo spoke extensively on the achievements recorded by the Ministry, ongoing reforms and the challenges confronting the various agencies under its supervision. He also highlighted efforts aimed at improving service delivery, strengthening internal security and making government institutions more responsive to the needs of Nigerians.
The Minister used the occasion to explain some of the reforms being implemented by the Federal Government, stressing the importance of sustained collaboration between the government and Nigerians at home and abroad.
He encouraged Nigerians living in Canada and other parts of the diaspora to remain actively involved in the development of Nigeria, noting that their contributions, expertise, investments and constructive engagements remain important to the country’s progress.
Tunji-Ojo also called on Nigerians in the diaspora to continue supporting the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing confidence in the President’s commitment to transforming the country’s economy and improving the lives of citizens.
According to him, the Federal Government is making significant efforts towards building a better, stronger and more prosperous Nigeria for all.
The engagement further provided an avenue for the Minister to listen to the perspectives of Nigerians abroad while reaffirming the administration’s commitment to reforms and effective governance.
Participants at the session expressed appreciation for the opportunity to interact with the Minister and discuss issues affecting Nigerians, while the engagement underscored the importance of maintaining a strong connection between Nigerians in the diaspora and the government.
The meeting forms part of efforts to deepen engagement with Nigerians outside the country and ensure that their concerns, ideas and contributions remain part of conversations around Nigeria’s development.
