Adelegbe Breaks Silence on Court Judgment, Assures Supporters of Victory at Appeal

The political contest over the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Owo/Ose Federal Constituency has entered a new phase following the judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja declaring Barrister Ghani Arobo as the party’s candidate.

In response, the member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe, has urged his supporters and APC faithful to remain calm and law-abiding, assuring them that he has already approached the Court of Appeal to challenge the ruling.

Director of Media and Publicity, maintains that the Federal High Court’s decision is not the final word on the matter and expresses confidence that the appellate court will uphold his position as the party’s authentic candidate.

A PRESS RELEASE ISSUED BY OTUNBA TIMEHIN ADELEGBE ON THE DECLARATION OF BARR. GHANNI AROBO AS THE APC CANDIDATE FOR OWO/OSE FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY BY THE FEDERAL HIGH COURT IN ABUJA.

The member representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Timehin Adelegbe, has called on his supporters, party faithful, and constituents to remain calm and law-abiding following the judgment of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, which declared Barrister Ghani Arobo as the lawful candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Owo/Ose Federal Constituency.

The court also directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to upload Arobo’s name as the APC candidate within 48 hours, a development that has generated widespread reactions among party members and political stakeholders in Ondo State.

Otunba Timehin Adelegbe, disclosed that he has commenced the process of challenging the decision at the Court of Appeal, expressing confidence that the appellate court will overturn the judgment.

According to the statement, the Federal High Court’s decision does not represent the final position of the law, stressing that the matter would be subjected to further judicial review at the appellate level.

The lawmaker maintained that Barrister Ghani Arobo was neither declared the winner of the APC primary election in Owo/Ose Federal Constituency by the party’s electoral panel nor returned as the actual winner of the primary by the Appeal Committee constituted by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC to review complaints arising from the exercise.

Barr Arobo was not  recommended by the National Working Committee of the party as the APC candidate for the constituency, insisting that Hon. Adelegbe remains the authentic and bona fide candidate of the APC pending the final determination of the legal dispute.

Expressing confidence in the judicial process, Adelegbe assured his supporters that there was no cause for panic, stating that he remains optimistic that justice will prevail at the Court of Appeal.

He therefore appealed to his supporters across Owo and Ose Local Government Areas, as well as members of the APC, to remain peaceful, patient, and steadfast while the legal process takes its full course.

The lawmaker also urged them to refrain from any act capable of disrupting public peace or causing unnecessary tension, emphasizing that the rule of law should be respected and that all parties should allow the courts to conclude the matter.

Hon. Adelegbe reaffirmed his commitment to pursuing every lawful avenue available to protect what he described as the mandate freely given to him by APC members during the party’s nomination process.
