As Nigerians welcome the month of August, Lagos-based legal practitioner and public affairs advocate Banji Alabi, Esq. has encouraged citizens not to allow age or life’s challenges to stand in the way of their dreams.
In a heartfelt New Month message released on Saturday, August 1, 2026, Alabi stressed that success is determined by purpose, hard work, skill acquisition, faith in God, and the courage to keep pursuing one’s vision regardless of age.
He urged Nigerians to trust their abilities, create value through service, pray for divine helpers, and remain confident that with perseverance and God’s grace, every individual can achieve lasting success.

As we enter a new month, I extend warm felicitations to all my family members, friends, associates, and well-wishers across Nigeria and beyond.
This new month, I am compelled to share a message that I believe our society urgently needs: AGE IS MERE NUMBERS. AGE IS NOT A DETERRENT TO SUCCESS.
Too often, we allow the calendar to dictate our capacity. We see people giving up on their dreams at 45, at 60, and even at 70, believing that time has passed them by. That is a lie.
The truth is that God, in His infinite wisdom, endowed every human being with unique talents— gifts with which to make a living, solve problems, and achieve greatness.
TRUST YOUR TWO HANDS AND BRAIN POWER.
COMMIT YOUR TWO HANDS TO LABOR AND ACHIEVE GREAT SUCCESS.
STOP BEGGING. BEGGING IS INFERIOR TO YOUR DESTINY.
The challenge before us is clear:
1. Recognize the talent that God has placed in you
2. Develop that talent through learning and discipline
3. Commercialize that talent by turning it into a solution that serves humanity
4. PRAY FOR SPONSORS. – No one achieves great success alone. God will bring helpers, partners, and sponsors to lift the work of your hands.
When we do this, value is created. And where there is value, wealth and impact will follow.
History proves this: Colonel Harland Sanders founded Kentucky Fried Chicken at the age of 65, Today, KFC is a global brand in over 150 countries.
– Ray Kroc built McDonald’s into a worldwide empire starting in his 50s
– Grandma Moses began her painting career at 78 and became a celebrated American artist.
– Fauja Singh ran his first marathon at 89
If these men and women could start and succeed in their 60s, 70s, and 80s, then why should anyone at 45, 60, or 70 believe it is too late?
As believers, we are further empowered. The Scriptures remind us: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”_

In Jesus Christ, we have the power to rewrite our story and determine how our chapter ends.
Therefore, my charge to all of us this month is simple:
ACQUIRE A SKILL.
LEARN TO SOLVE REAL HUMAN PROBLEMS.
TURN THAT SOLUTION INTO VALUE, AND VALUE WILL TURN INTO WEALTH.
Let us refuse to retire our dreams. Let us refuse to be defined by age.
Let us instead be defined by purpose, by service, and by the impact we make.
I pray that this month brings you fresh strength, fresh ideas, fresh sponsors, and fresh opportunities.
YOU WILL SUCCEED.
