FG Bans Electricity Companies from Collecting Money for Meter Replacements

The FCCPC has directed electricity companies not to charge customers for replacing obsolete prepaid meters.

It said consumers should not bear the cost of replacing worn-out metering infrastructure.

Customers will also not be disconnected during the replacement process.
The FCCPC added that delays in meter replacement must not lead to estimated billing.
