Army Officer Killed During Oyo School Rescue Operation Buried as Victims Regain Freedom
IBADAN – The Nigerian military has paid tribute to one of its officers, Lieutenant F.A. Isaac, who lost his life during the operation to rescue the abducted pupils and teachers from Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Lt. Isaac was laid to rest following his death in the line of duty while participating in the military operation that ultimately secured the safe release of the kidnapped school children and their teachers.
The officer’s burial coincided with the successful rescue of the victims, bringing a poignant end to a mission that lasted several weeks and involved coordinated operations by the Nigerian military and other security agencies.
The rescue mission led to the freedom of all the abducted pupils and teachers, who are currently receiving medical care and rehabilitation.
The sacrifice of Lt. Isaac has been widely acknowledged as a reflection of the risks undertaken by security personnel in the fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes across the country.
The Nigerian military has continued to honour officers and soldiers who make the ultimate sacrifice in the defence of the nation, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding the lives of citizens despite the dangers faced during operations.
