Three Vict!ms of Omugo ECWA Church K!dnap Regain Fre£dom After 105 Days in Capt!vity.

Three female worshippers abducted during the March 22, 2026 attack on an ECWA Church in Omugo, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, have regained their freedom after spending 105 days in captivity.

The women were among eight worshippers kidnapped when armed men invaded the church during a Sunday worship service, throwing the community into mourning and uncertainty.

According to reports, the victims were rescued by a joint security team comprising personnel of the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force, and local vigilantes following sustained security operations.

Their release has brought relief to the Omugo community after more than three months in captivity. However, the community continues to mourn the five worshippers who reportedly lost their lives while in the hands of their abductors.

Confirming the development, the President of the Omugo Development Union, Prince Oladimeji Ladi Thompson, expressed gratitude to the security agencies for the successful rescue operation and welcomed the safe return of the three women.

He also extended his condolences to the families of the five worshippers who did not survive the ordeal, describing the incident as a painful tragedy for the entire community.

The rescue marks a significant milestone in ongoing efforts by security agencies to combat kidnapping and restore peace across affected communities in Kwara State.
