Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has opened up about her decision to leave Islam and embrace Christianity, saying it followed what she described as a miraculous healing from a nine-year battle with a mysterious illness.

The actress said she spent years bedridden and survived several near-death experiences. She believes God gave her a second chance, and that conviction led her to dedicate her life to Jesus Christ.

She described her recovery as not just physical but deeply spiritual, prompting her to publicly declare her faith and share her testimony.

“I’m a brand new person now. I have given my life to Christ. I want to serve God because He has helped me. I almost died. They almost killed me. This is not about movies; this is about restoration and testimony. Halima Abubakar is back, big and better.

“Right now, I’m ready to serve God because He wants me to. He has delivered me, so I need to serve Him and preach His gospel to the people,” she said.

Halima also revealed plans to share a detailed testimony of her healing journey, crediting Queen Belemzy Ministries (School of Power) for playing a role in her restoration.

Her announcement has drawn widespread support from fans and colleagues, with many congratulating her and describing her conversion as the start of a new chapter.

The actress said she is now leaving behind years of pain and uncertainty to embrace a life defined by faith, healing, and restoration.
