Arapaja Reportedly Set to Leave Gov. Makinde’s Camp, Eyes APC Ahead of 2027

Former Deputy Governor of Oyo State and factional National Deputy Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Amb. Taofeek Arapaja, is reportedly preparing to part ways with Governor Seyi Makinde’s political camp as speculation grows over his planned defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to credible party sources, Arapaja has intensified consultations over the proposed move and recently held a meeting with President Bola Tinubu, further fueling reports of his imminent switch to the ruling party.

Sources familiar with the development said the PDP chieftain is expected to resign from his current position within Governor Makinde’s political bloc next week before formally announcing his next political destination.
