Former SSG dies after suspected kidnappers’ attack

Former Secretary to the Benue State Government (SSG), Prof. David Salifu, is dead after he was shot by suspected kidnappers.
Sources said the attack happened on Thursday in Wukari, Taraba State, while the professor was travelling to Makurdi. He reportedly escaped from the gunmen but sustained gunshot injuries in the process.

Salifu was rushed to a hospital in Makurdi for treatment. He was later confirmed dead on Thursday night.

Details of the incident are still sketchy, and security authorities have not issued an official statement as of the time of filing this report.
