10 Killed, Over 15 Injured in Fresh Benue Attack
No fewer than 10 people have been killed and more than 15 others injured after suspected armed herdsmen attacked Sai community in Mbajir Council Ward, Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State in the early hours of Wednesday.
Residents said the attackers stormed the community, opening fire and causing panic as people fled for safety. Several persons were reportedly trapped during the assault, while many others remain missing, with search efforts still ongoing.
The injured victims were rushed to the NKST Hospital in Sai for treatment, while those with critical injuries are expected to be referred to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi.
Community leaders have called on security agencies to intensify efforts to protect residents and prevent further attacks, as fears continue to grow over recurring violence in parts of the state.
