Midnight Terror In Sokoto : Bandits Kill Imam, 3 Others, Abduct 12 In Fresh Attack 
Gunmen suspected to be bandits stormed Illelar Dawagware village in Goronyo LGA, Sokoto State, around 12:20 a.m. Sunday, killing an Imam and three residents while abducting 12 others, Daily Trust reports. About 30 attackers arrived on nine motorcycles, shot sporadically for 30 minutes, and went house to house after overpowering villagers who tried to resist.
The victims killed were identified as Mallam Liman Lawwali Na Ande, Lawwali Na Lami, and Abdullahi Haruna, alongside the village imam. Those abducted include eight women and four men, among them Amiru, Hauwa, and Awwalu. Alhaji Samaila suffered a gunshot that fractured his hand and is receiving treatment in Sokoto, residents said.
Villagers accused security operatives of ignoring distress calls despite offers to fuel patrol vehicles, calling it the 24th attack on the community. Many have now fled to the IDPs camp in Goronyo, fearing a repeat. This comes days after bandits killed a chief imam and abducted nine people in nearby Kuda-Kuda village, as efforts to reach Sokoto Police PRO DSP Ahmad Rufai were unsuccessful.
