KATSINA – Fresh controversy has emerged after security advocate Dr. Bashir Kurfi alleged that the Katsina State Government sponsored some notorious bandit leaders to perform the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, allegedly paying as much as ₦10 million for each individual. Speaking during an interview on Trust TV, Kurfi claimed that certain bandit leaders have maintained direct contact with government officials and have participated in meetings and negotiations despite being linked to violent attacks in the North-West.
