Three Soldiers Killed In Sokoto IED Blast Buried At Giginya Barracks
Three Nigerian soldiers killed by an IED in Isa LGA, Sokoto State, were buried Tuesday at Giginya Barracks. The blast hit their vehicle on Saturday in Bargaja community as they responded to a bandit attack.
Deputy Governor Idris Gobir represented Governor Ahmed Aliyu at the funeral. He said: “They lost their lives in the line of duty, while protecting the lives and property of the community.” He pledged continued state support for troops fighting insecurity.
Isa LGA lies along the Kamuku-Kuyambana forest belt linked to bandit leader Bello Turji. Residents want better patrol equipment and mine-detection tech to cut troop casualties.
