Davido announces new song ‘I Know Who I Be’

Davido, the Nigerian music star, has announced that his new single titled ‘I Know Who I Be’ will be released on June 26.

The Grammy-nominated artiste took to his X page on Monday to share the news, revealing that the track will feature Jazzwrld and GL_Ceejay.

“The journey to the throne begins. My next single I Know Who I Be releases June 26th,” he wrote, accompanied by promotional photos of the forthcoming project.

The announcement signals a return to solo releases for the Afrobeats heavyweight, who has maintained a relatively quiet output of personal singles in recent months.

His last solo single ‘Be There Still’ (March 7, 2025) preceded his critically acclaimed album ‘Timeless,’ while his most recent appearance was as a featured artiste on TxC’s track ‘Nakupenda‘.

The new release comes after Davido performed at the opening concert of the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown series in Los Angeles.

In May, the singer had announced he was taking a temporary break from making music.

Born David Adeleke, Davido rose to fame in 2012 after releasing ‘Dami Duro,’ the second single from his debut album ‘Omo Baba Olowo’.

Since his debut album, he has delivered three other projects including ‘A Good Time’ (2019), ‘A Better Time‘ (2020), and ‘Timeless’ (2023).

Davido is also the founder of DMW, a record label established in April 2016. The music label has served as home to a plethora of music talents.
