A Nigerian pastor has sparked reactions after making controversial remarks about the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, claiming his public communication style during interviews is a deliberate political strategy.

The cleric alleged that Obi often gives responses that appear unclear or “confusing” to some observers, but insisted that the approach is intentional and strategic rather than a sign of incompetence.

If you watch his interviews, what Peter Obi will be doing is that when you interview him, he always gives what seems like a nons£nse answer. He gives nons£nse answers to the point that, if you look at him, everybody is now saying, ‘This man cannot be the president.’

His answer is that the subsidy that was removed, if he had been elected in his own time, he would have removed it. But he cannot say it now, because if he says it, then there’s no need for him to contest again. It means the president who is there is doing the right thing.
