“The Driver Abandoned Us , He Fled, Leaving Us to Be Kidnapped by Bandits” – Mr Abba Recounts:
Abba, who was once abducted by bandits, has narrated how the driver of the vehicle he boarded allegedly led them into a kidnapping incident and then escaped.
Abba said they boarded a vehicle from Gusau to Sokoto at the official New Gusau Motor Park, traveling with other victims, Maryam and Yasmeen. Shortly after the journey began, they stopped at a filling station to buy fuel and continued. After covering some distance, the driver complained that the vehicle had developed a fault. They stopped briefly for him to inspect it before proceeding.
When they got close to a military checkpoint, where soldiers had stopped vehicles for inspection, the driver refused to stop and simply drove past. A short distance later, Abba said he suddenly heard people praying and began seeing men with long hair, charms, and guns.
Before he could fully understand what was happening, he looked toward the driver’s seat and discovered that the driver was no longer there. The driver had fled, and no one saw how or where he escaped, leaving the passengers behind
