F£ar Across Yoruba Communities as Over 10 Traditional Rulers Reportedly K!lled or K!dnapped Amid Rising Insecurity

Fear and tension have gripped several communities following a disturbing wave of attacks targeting traditional rulers in parts of the South-West and neighbouring states.

Reports indicate that another monarch was abducted today, adding to growing concerns that have reportedly forced some rulers to flee their palaces or tighten security around their domains.

In recent months, at least 10 to 11 traditional rulers across Ondo, Ekiti, Kwara, and Kogi States have either been kidnapped or killed in incidents linked to armed bandit attacks.

Some of the affected monarchs include:

1. Oba Kehinde Jacob Falodun – Alagamo of Agamo, Akure North LGA, Ondo State

2. Oba Segun Aremu – Olukoro of Koro, Kwara State

3. Oba David Babatunde Ogunsakin – Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, Ekiti State

4. Oba Samuel Olatunji Olusola – Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Ekiti State

5. Oba Adegoke Adeusi – Olufon of Ifon, Ondo State
Baale of Ogbayo – Oke-Ode, Kwara State

6. Oba Salman Olátúnjí Aweda – Asamu of Olayinka, Kwara State

7. Oba J.D. Ogunyanda Ilufemiloye – Obalohun of Okoloke, Kogi State

8. Ojibara of Bayagan-Ile – Oba Kamilu Salami, Kwara State

9. Oba Simeon Olaonipekun – Oniwo of Afin, Kwara State
