Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has alleged that certain politicians are behind the recent abduction of schoolchildren in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, claiming that the incident is part of a broader plot to destabilize the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking on the disturbing wave of insecurity, Igboho expressed concern over the safety of the kidnapped children and criticized what he described as the failure of authorities to swiftly secure their release.
According to him, the kidnappings are not ordinary criminal acts but are being orchestrated by political actors seeking to create fear, tension, and public dissatisfaction with the current government.
“The politicians behind these kidnappings are doing it to destabilize President Bola Tinubu’s administration,” Igboho was quoted as saying.
The activist further declared his readiness to personally mobilize efforts to rescue the abducted children, stating that he only requires official approval to enter the forests where the kidnappers are believed to be hiding.
“I want permission to enter the bush and rescue those children,” he said, expressing confidence in his ability to track down the abductors and secure the victims’ freedom.
The statement has sparked reactions from various quarters, with supporters praising his willingness to intervene while others have called on security agencies to intensify ongoing rescue operations and thoroughly investigate the claims.
