Odigbo LG Chairman Adegoroye Orders Immediate Closure of Schools

In view of the prevailing security challenges across the country, The Executive Chairman of Odigbo Local Government, Otunba (Hon.) Taiwo Adegoroye, has directed the immediate closure of all “Private, Public Schools” within Odigbo Local Government Area until further notice

The Chairman stated that the directive is aimed at safeguarding the lives and property of residents, particularly pupils, students, teachers, and other school personnel. He, however, clarified that candidates currently sitting for national examinations will be allowed access to their respective school premises strictly for examination purposes.

The Council boss warned that any school found violating this directive would face appropriate sanctions in accordance with the law.

He also appealed to parents and guardians to closely monitor their children and restrict unnecessary movements in order to enhance their safety amid the current security situation.

Furthermore, the Chairman assured residents that his administration is working closely with security agencies and relevant stakeholders to strengthen security measures across the local government and ensure the protection of lives and property.

Honourable Adegoroye reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to the welfare, safety, and security of all residents of Odigbo Local Government and urged members of the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious activities.
