The tragedy involving an NSCDC woman in Benue State refers to the muuder of Josephine Cynthia Onche, an officer with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.
She was killed by her fiancé, Christopher Akpan, who murdered and bur!ed her in a shallow grave just days before their planned wedding.
The fiancé, Akpan, allegedly orchestrated the mu√der and engaged a native doctor to perform a ritual. The police stated that Akpan committed the crime to avoid repaying a N14 million debt he owed her, which she had saved for their upcoming wedding.
Following her sudden disappearance, Akpan acted as a grieving fiancé for over a year.
However, the Nigerian Police Force arrested Akpan and his accomplice after a commercial motorcyclist (Okada rider) tipped off her family about the suspicious activities he had witnessed.
