Two soldiers attached to the 63 Brigade of the Nigerian Army have died following a road accident that occurred on Saturday along 74 Road in the Oshimili South LGA of Delta state.

According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, the two soldiers were riding on a motorcycle when they were hit by a vehicle.

The publication said the victims were immediately evacuated to the 63 Brigade Medical Centre for treatment but were confirmed dead on arrival by medical personnel.

Makama added that the security operatives arrested the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash.

Quoting security sources, the publication said the suspect underwent drug tests and reportedly tested positive for cannabis and cocaine.
