Some of you spreading AI-doctored voice notes and calling for chaos on social media need to study history — starting with the tragic story of Lt. Col. Buka Suka Dimka.

On February 13, 1976, Dimka led a failed coup against General Murtala Mohammed’s government. The nation was thrown into shock. Murtala was assassinated in Lagos. Blood spilled on the streets.

But the coup failed. Nigeria survived.
And the plotters paid the ultimate price.

Dimka fled. He was hunted down near the Cameroon border, dragged before a military tribunal, and executed by firing squad at Kirikiri Prison on May 15, 1976 — alongside his co-conspirators.

History has one brutal lesson: Attempts to destabilize a nation end in regret, ruin, and graves.

Nigeria has already bled through civil war, coups, and political bloodshed. We have buried too many sons and daughters. We have seen mothers wail over bodies and children grow up in refugee camps. War is not a tweet. War is hunger. War is orphans. War is generations lost.

So to those creating fake AI voice notes, pumping ethnic hatred, and inciting violence from behind a keyboard: Tread carefully.

No nation survives when lawlessness, confusion, and digital lies are left to fester.
