I Feel Your Pain” — Ambode Sends Emotional Message to Fubara Over Political Battles

….The Godfather System Prevailed Against Me Too….

Former Lagos Governor Ambode has penned an emotional message to Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara, reflecting on the harsh realities of politics and leadership.

Quoting a Yoruba adage, he wrote: “Ẹni tí ó wọ bàtà ló mọ ibi tí ó ti ń pọ̀ ọ́” — meaning, the person wearing the shoe knows where it pinches.

According to Ambode, he understands Fubara’s struggles because he once walked a similar path. He recalled how he was insulted and labelled with different names during his time in office, while many also pressured him to continue fighting political battles in Lagos.

“But leadership becomes difficult when a man is forced to battle from every corner. How can one truly concentrate on governance while constantly defending himself from distractions and political wars?

Like you, I tried to breathe. I tried to stay focused. But in the end, the godfather system prevailed.”

Ambode told Fubara that he believes history will one day remember his sacrifices and that the people of Rivers State will eventually appreciate the role he played during this period.

He ended the message with prayers for strength, peace, and divine reward for Fubara’s efforts and sacrifices for his people.
