Suspected Kidnappers Spent Four Days Planning Lagos Attack — Police

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Tijani Fatai, has disclosed that four suspected kidnappers neutralised at Jakande Gate in the Ejigbo area of Lagos allegedly spent four days in the state preparing for their operation before launching the attack on May 24, 2026.

According to the police commissioner, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects carefully coordinated and finalised their plans prior to carrying out the attempted operation.

The suspects were reportedly killed during a security operation around the Jakande Gate axis following an exchange with law enforcement operatives.

Police authorities said investigations are ongoing to determine the full network behind the planned kidnapping operation and possible collaborators within and outside Lagos State.

Our Heritage Reporter online reports that security agencies have intensified anti-kidnapping operations across Nigeria amid rising concerns over abductions and violent crimes in several parts of the country.
