Some people want Tinubu dead over oil subsidy removal, exchange rate -Osoba
A former Ogun state governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba, Wednesday said some people wanted President Tinubu dead because of oil subsidy removal.
Speaking on behalf of President Tinubu at a book launch in Lagos, Chief Osoba said: “As for security, he told me to tell you that he is aware that there is a deliberate attempt to disrupt the peace of this country by people who he knew he has offended by canceling multiple exchange rate, or by canceling oil subsidy and those cabal who are doing round tripping. They wish him dead but he is determined,” Osoba said.
He stated further that President Tinubu is aware that some people are not pleased with him and those behind insecurity in the country are saboteurs who are not happy about the reforms his administration has embarked on since he came on board.
He said the saboteurs are doing everything to frustrate his administration and might kill him if they have their way.
The president said this in Lagos at the launch of the book: “The NADECO story” written by Mr Ayo Opadokun who was the spokesperson and general secretary of the organization.
The occasion was also used to recognise and appreciate those that participated in the struggle.
The event was attended by most lieutenants of the NADECO struggle such as Dr Olisa Agbajoba(SAN), Senator Bode Olajumoke, Mrs Jumoke Anifowose, Dr Tokunbo Ajasin, Professor Anya O.Anya, Dr Joe Okei- Odumakin, Solomon Asemota, Wale Osun and others.
President Tinubu who was represented by former governor of Ogun state, Chief Segun Osoba, said the insecurity challenges the country is facing was deliberate and that it was masterminded by those who felt their means of defrauding the country has been blocked through the economic policies introduced by the president.
The president said the major issue his administration is facing is to fix the economy and subdue insecurity.
He however, promised that when elected into office for a second term, he would implement those political policies he has in mind to make life better and more meaningful for Nigerians.
