TUC Expels 11 Members, Suspends 14 Others Over Alleged Disobedience To NEC Decisions

𝗟𝗔𝗚𝗢𝗦 – The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) has taken strong disciplinary action against some of its members, expelling 11 officers and suspending 14 others over alleged disobedience to resolutions of its National Executive Council (NEC). The decision was announced after an emergency NEC meeting held in Lagos, following recommendations from an investigative committee set up on April 27.

TUC President-General Festus Osifo said the committee was mandated to investigate cases of alleged misconduct and flagrant disobedience within the organization and ensure fair hearing before recommendations were made. He stated that those affected include members from Lagos, Rivers, Enugu and Bayelsa State councils, and confirmed that the expelled individuals are no longer recognized in any official capacity, while suspended members will not participate in union activities for two years.
