Tension has reportedly emerged within the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors Forum over alleged disagreements tied to campaign-related funding ahead of the 2027 general elections, raising concerns about internal cohesion within the ruling party.

According to a report by Arise TV News on its official X account on Monday, May 11, 2026 President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is said to have stepped in to manage the growing tension among APC governors following allegations surrounding the handling and movement of certain political funds.

The dispute is believed to centre on Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, who has been mentioned in connection with questions raised by some governors regarding the management of resources linked to political mobilisation efforts within the party.

The report further stated that funds from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) were allegedly channelled into accounts associated with groups identified as “Renewed Hope Ambassadors” and later “Renewed Hope Network.” These structures are said to be linked to political coordination and mobilisation activities connected to the ruling party’s broader strategy.

Concerns reportedly intensified after members of the Governors Forum began requesting clarification on how the funds were being utilised. However, it was alleged that responses provided did not fully address the questions raised, leading to increased unease among some governors.
