Fire Razes Residential Building in Kwara as Children Allegedly Play With Gas Cylinder

FIRE INCIDENT: A fire outbreak reportedly caused by children playing with a cooking gas cylinder has damaged parts of a residential building in Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
According to the Kwara State Fire Service, the incident affected two flats in a four-flat storey building before firefighters quickly brought it under control. The children were said to have been home alone when the fire started and later raised an alarm as it spread.
Officials confirmed that no casualties or injuries were recorded, while residents and emergency responders ensured the fire did not engulf the entire building.
Authorities have urged parents and guardians to keep children away from gas cylinders, matches, and other flammable materials, and to ensure proper supervision at all times.
