Nyesom Wike Decorated with Royal Traditional Attire, Conferred as “Hasken Abuja” 
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has been decorated with royal traditional attire and conferred with the title of “Hasken Abuja” (Light of Abuja) by the FCT Traditional Council.
According to a media post by Lere Olayinka, the media aide to the FCT Minister, on Thursday, April 30, 2026, the conferment reflects the council’s appreciation of Wike’s leadership, infrastructural development drive, and commitment to improving the Federal Capital Territory.
The honour was bestowed under the leadership of the Ona of Abaji, Adamu Baba Yunusa, in recognition of his contributions to the development of the nation’s capital.
Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, CON, was formally adorned in traditional regalia during the ceremony as part of the cultural honour bestowed on him by the traditional institution.
The title “Hasken Abuja” symbolizes light, hope, and progress, reflecting the perceived impact of the minister’s leadership and ongoing transformation efforts within the Federal Capital Territory.
