Yusuf Buhari Made A Big Mistake In His Life That WIll Haunt His Ambition

His biggest achievements as Nigerian first son for eight years was marrying from a royal family.

He has been babysitting in the comfort of Aso Rock, enjoying all the privileges of Nigerian first son for eight years, he never thought of life after power, never seized that opportunity to help not even the Nigerian youths but his immediate constituents when he had the opportunity.

Recall, the only times Yusuf Buhari made headlines throughout his father’s tenure was in December, 2017 when he had a bike accident in Abuja. And secondly was on May 2019 when Forbes newspaper ranked him “World 4th richest president sons”. And the last time he trend was during his affluent wedding in August, 2021. He never made headlines for helping anybody.

However, Yusuf was never involved in any government affairs , nor did he have needed leadership experience and political acuments that would make a great leader. His nonchalant nature has played him down even in his family level.

Three years later after leaving power, reality hits, his late dad circle have abandoned him, he suddenly discover that he had the qualities to lead his people and bring progress, or he just realised that the only way to keep up with his lost lifestyle and relevance (after he failed to secure appointment in Tinubu’s government) was to vie for political seat?

I think his sudden declaration to join politics at this point was apparently not motivated by the need to serve but rather personal interest in order to maintain his affluence and regain relevance in the political class. Hence, I can’t say his people let him down for not supporting his bid because they are just doing the right. It is a payback period.

If Yusuf had people in mind, why did he not use his influence to connect with them when his dad was in power? Even, his biological sister Zara Buhari was involved in several philanthropic activities that impacted on dozens of people. What was his excuse as a man?

Unlike, Seyi Tinubu who has been actively shaking grounds, promoting his father’s agenda and empowering the youths across Nigeria. I admire and respect Seyi more than any first son Nigeria ever had.

Finally, I categorically wish Yusuf well and hope that the good people of Daura/Sandamu/Mai adua constituency will vote wisely come 2027.
