The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has advised leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to reconsider their support for Galadima as a potential governorship candidate, warning that such a move could weaken the party’s chances in upcoming elections.
In a statement released on Friday, the cleric urged party stakeholders to look inward, stressing that a more capable and electable candidate already exists within the party’s cabinet; According to him, the APC does not need to search far for a credible flagbearer, as someone with the right political strength, grassroots appeal, and administrative experience is already serving within its ranks.
Primate Ayodele cautioned that presenting Galadima as the party’s preferred candidate may lead to political setbacks, insisting that the choice of candidate must be guided by strategy rather than sentiment; He noted that elections are won not just by party structure but by the popularity and acceptance of the candidate among the people.
“Go to your cabinet, there is someone there who is more capable and has what it takes to win,” he stated; “If APC insists on Galadima, it may face serious challenges at the polls.”
The cleric further emphasized the importance of unity and careful decision-making within the party, warning that internal miscalculations could cost the APC its chances of retaining or gaining power in the state.
He therefore urged party leaders to conduct wider consultations and consider candidates with proven political relevance and public support, rather than settling for choices that may not resonate with the electorate.
