Umar Bio Salihu, the village head of Woro in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, has recounted how he narrowly escaped death by hiding during a violent bandit attack on his community.
Speaking in an interview with News Central TV, Salihu revealed that the attackers stormed his home, where they killed two of his children. He said the bandits attempted to force his wife to reveal his hiding place, but their efforts were unsuccessful as they could not locate him.
He further explained that the assailants later abducted his wife along with some of his children, taking them into the forest. Before leaving, they set his house and vehicles ablaze and destroyed several homes and shops across the community.
Salihu described the incident as devastating, noting that despite the attackers’ attempts to track him down through his family, he remained hidden and survived the ordeal.
