A man who was previously accused of rape and spent seven years in prison before being acquitted has expressed gratitude to Nigerians for the support he and his wife received after their story went public.

He was accused by a girl placed in his care, a case that led to his incarceration before he was later found not guilty after years.

Following their story, the couple received financial assistance, including about ₦500,000, from members of the public.

They have now come forward to appreciate Nigerians for their kindness, saying the support has helped them begin to rebuild their lives.
