2008 Alumni Return in Grand Style, Empower Students and Rekindle Legacy at Anambra School

The 2008 Alumni Set of Standard International Secondary School Eziowelle recently paid a Historic Visit, Sponsored Students and Inspired Future Leaders in their alma mater. In a remarkable display of gratitude, unity, and social responsibility, the 2008 set of the Old Students’ Association of Standard International Secondary School, Eziowelle, on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, paid a historic homage visit to their alma mater nearly 18 years after after graduation.

The distinguished delegation was led by the incumbent Chairman and President of the 2008 set, Mr. Chidozie Udegbe,(Akuenwebe Abatete)and was accompanied by six notable members of the association: Mr. Christian Okoye (Treasurer), Mr. Osinachi Anielozie (Public Relations Officer), Mr. Nnamdi Aro (Member), Mr. Onwazombe Abuchi (Member), Mrs. Nnonye (née Mbanugo) (Member), and Mr. Ifeanyi Anaeli (Member).

*Warm Reception and Institutional Appreciation:* The alumni delegation was warmly received by the Principal of the school, Rev. Tochukwu Nwafor, who welcomed them on behalf of the Vicar of St. John’s Anglican Church, Eziowelle, and the Manager of the institution, Ven. Friday Okonkwo. The reception reflected deep appreciation for the alumni’s commitment to reconnecting with their roots and contributing meaningfully to the development of their former school.

The visit, described as both emotional and impactful, marked the first major reunion of the group since leaving the institution approximately 18 years ago. Members of the 2008 set, now accomplished professionals across diverse sectors—including Business, Building Technology, Medicine, Nursing, Engineering, Teaching, Building Technology and Religious vocations —shared reflections on their academic journey and life experiences.

The gathering underscored the enduring bond between the alumni and their alma mater, as well as their shared vision of giving back to the next generation.

*Educational Support & Empowerment Initiatives:* Alumni Sponsor Seven Students: A major highlight of the visit was the philanthropic intervention by the alumni, who sponsored the school fees of seven deserving students. The beneficiaries include:
