Police  Nab Wanted Cult Leader, Four Others After Viólent Political Clash in osun

Operatives of the Anti-Cultism Unit of the Osun State Police Command have reportedly arrested a wanted cult leader, Amokeaja Basit, along with four suspected gang members in Ilesa.

According to a report by InsightMedia, police sources confirmed the arrest, describing Basit as a notorious figure in the Ijesa axis who was apprehended on Monday night.

The arrest was said to have followed a viólent clash between supporters of the Accord Party and the All Progressives Congress in Ilesa on Monday.

Reports indicate that Basit and his gang allegedly att@cked some political figures during the incident, resulting in injuries and damage to vehicles.

The four other suspects arrested alongside him have been identified as Olatunde Segun, Adeyeye Suji, Babatunde Lekan, and Olayinka Laide.

The report further stated that police sources added that investigations are ongoing, with efforts underway to apprehend other members of the gang who are currently at large.
