Nigerian Troops Arrest Suspected Boko Haram Recruiter

The arrest was carried out by soldiers of the 29 Brigade under Operation HADIN KAI following actionable intelligence from an informant, which linked the suspect to the recruitment of individuals into the group’s ranks.

Troops of the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have arrested a suspected recruiter for the terrorists group, Boko Haram in Benesheikh area of Borno State.

The arrest was carried out by soldiers of the 29 Brigade under Operation HADIN KAI following actionable intelligence from an informant, which linked the suspect to the recruitment of individuals into the group’s ranks.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed that the suspect was apprehended on Tuesday, March 24, during a coordinated operation involving troops and CJTF operatives in the area.

Military authorities confirmed that the suspect is currently in custody and will be processed in accordance with established procedures.

They also stated that investigations are ongoing to dismantle the recruitment network and identify other collaborators involved in the operation.

Operation HADIN KAI has in recent months intensified intelligence-driven operations across the North-East, targeting insurgent cells and disrupting recruitment channels sustaining the prolonged insurgency in the region.
