Atiku’s son, Shehu Abubakar reacts to Kwankwaso’s move to ADC amid Obi-Kwankwaso reported alliance

Shehu Abubakar, son of former vice president Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to trending report about Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso moving to the coalition party–African Democratic Congress (ADC) to align with the main opposition party in the country.

While reacting through his X account to the report of Kwankwaso defection to the ADC, Shehu Abubakar signaled that the move by Kwankwaso is a welcomed one, stating that “many governors will align at the appropriate time”.

His statement comes in wake of growing speculation about his father’s political future especially his 2027 presidential ambition.

Atiku Abubakar had long declared interest in the 2027 presidential election and championed the emergence of the coalition party.

However, unverified reports suggest that Atiku Abubakar might not be in the presidential ballot in 2027 as the coalition party has concluded on fielding former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi as its presidential candidate while Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is to be his running mate.

This arrangement is merely speculative; however, Peter Obi being hosted by the Kwankwasiyya movement yesterday to their Sallah celebration, accorded the speculation about their political partnership some credibility.
