IGP Disu Orders Fresh Posting Of Police Commissioners Nationwide, Fatai Replaces Jimoh As Lagos CP
Tijani Olaiwola Fatai has been posted to Lagos State Command, Morkwap S. Dongshal to Taraba State, and Ahmed Mohammed Bello to Zamfara State Command.
The Inspector-General of Police, Olutunji Disu, has approved a fresh round of postings involving several Commissioners of Police across various commands nationwide, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The directive was contained in an internal wireless message marked “Most/Immediate” and issued from the Force Headquarters in Abuja, directing all relevant units and formations to update their records accordingly.
According to the signal, Commissioner of Police Haruna Alaba Yahaya has been posted to head JGS, while Betty Enekpen Otimenyin has been deployed to Welfare at Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola has been assigned to Oyo State Command, and Yemi John Oyeniyi to Delta State Command.
Similarly, Olubode Ojajuni has been posted to Ogun State, Michael Adegoroye Falade to Ekiti State, and Yakubu Useni Dankaro (Ag.) to Adamawa State Command.
In other postings, Aina Adesola has been redeployed to Training under the Department of Training and Development at Force Headquarters, while Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed has been assigned to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command.
Tijani Olaiwola Fatai has been posted to Lagos State Command, Morkwap S. Dongshal to Taraba State, and Ahmed Mohammed Bello to Zamfara State Command.
Umar Ali Fagge has been deployed to Katsina State, while Mayatu Shaffa Hassan has been posted to Sokoto State Command.
The police authorities noted that the postings take immediate effect.
On Sunday, March 8, 2026, SaharaReporters exclusively reported that Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, the then-Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, was set to be promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General (AIG).
SaharaReporters further reported that Tijani Fatai, a Lagos-born police officer, had been pencilled down as a possible replacement for Jimoh as Lagos State Commissioner of Police.
Sources said Fatai, then-Commissioner of Police for the Eastern Ports Command, reportedly enjoyed the support of Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State.
“Moshood Jimoh is set to be promoted on Tuesday. Meanwhile, he is lobbying to head Zone 2 in Lagos,” a top police source told SaharaReporters. “Mr Tijani Fatai has been penciled down for Lagos, supported by Lagos governor.”
“They will be promoted and decorated on the same day,” the source added.
