Saudi Arabia Sets April 18 Deadline For Umrah Visa Holders To Leave Or Face Penalties
Pilgrims have been asked to coordinate with their Umrah travel companies to confirm travel dates and complete hotel check-out procedures on time.
Saudi Arabia has warned Umrah pilgrims that anyone who violates visa rules will face strict punishment, including fines, jail time, and deportation, as the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah introduces new procedures for departing the country.
They were also advised to arrange transportation to the airport in advance and arrive at least four hours before flight departure.
Authorities in a statement reminded pilgrims that the final deadline for Umrah visa holders to leave Saudi Arabia is Dhul Qa’dah 1, 1447, which corresponds to April 18, 2026.
“The Ministry of Interior also announced that Saudi citizens and residents are not allowed to transport, employ, shelter, or help any pilgrim who overstays their visa,” the ministry said. “Anyone who violates these rules will face strict punishment, including fines, jail time, and deportation.”
Officials further instructed Umrah service providers to report any instances of pilgrims exceeding their visa limits promptly.
“Service providers risk financial penalties if they do not disclose these infractions,” they added.
The government has warned that anyone who stays in the country after the deadline will face penalties, including fines, imprisonment, and deportation.
The ministry said it will continue to monitor compliance and act against violators to uphold Saudi Arabia’s immigration and pilgrimage regulations.
Pilgrims are advised to plan their departure carefully, follow the guidelines, and maintain coordination with service providers.
Authorities reminded Saudi residents and service providers that they must not assist pilgrims who overstay and are responsible for reporting any violations.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah also advised pilgrims to stay updated on announcements to avoid complications during their departure.
Failure to comply with the rules will result in legal and financial penalties.
Travel companies and service providers were reminded that timely reporting of overstaying pilgrims is required to avoid penalties.
