JUST IN: Peter Obi Suffers Set Back As Obedient Movement Financial Secretary Resigns

A development has emerged within Nigeria’s political landscape as Peter Obi faces a setback following the resignation of the Obedient Movement’s Director of Finance, Dr. Peter Adaw Agada.

According to a recent video by ESET TV on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, Agada announced his resignation during a press briefing, where he also unveiled a new civic initiative known as “Movement Nigeria.

He explained that his decision was driven by concerns over the lack of structure and coordination within the Obedient Movement, despite its strong grassroots energy during the 2023 elections.

According to him, the absence of an organized framework limited the movement’s long-term effectiveness.

He noted that Movement Nigeria aims to bridge this gap by building a structured, citizen-driven platform focused on civic engagement, leadership development, and national participation.

Agada further clarified that the new movement is not aligned with any individual, including Obi, but is instead built on collective responsibility and ideology.

He emphasized that its funding model is decentralized, relying on contributions from ordinary Nigerians rather than wealthy sponsors.

His Words: “I resigned my position as Director of Finance of the Obedient Movement about two or three days ago and sent a letter to the headquarters stating that I would no longer continue in that role. This decision was based on all the points we have mentioned here, which explain why Movement Nigeria has come into existence.
