2027 Elections: “I’m a die-hard democrat” – Tinubu Breaks Silence

In a recent video on YouTube, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his dedication to democratic governance and the unity of Nigeria, describing his political journey as one guided by conviction and a sense of destiny.

Speaking during a recent engagement, Tinubu said his path in public service has been shaped by a strong belief in democracy and a commitment to building a united nation.

“I followed the leadership destiny that God has chosen for me,” the president said. “There’s no doubt about that.”

Tinubu emphasized that his political ideology is deeply rooted in democratic principles, noting that his experiences over the years have strengthened his resolve to defend Nigeria’s democratic system.

“I’m a die-hard democrat,” he said. “And I follow that belief wholeheartedly, committedly, to a united country—Nigeria.”

The president’s remarks come as Nigeria continues to navigate political and economic challenges while strengthening democratic institutions that have been in place since the country’s return to civilian rule in 1999.

Tinubu noted that his dedication to democratic ideals goes beyond politics, describing it as a lifelong philosophy that shapes his approach to leadership and governance.

“That principle and that philosophy will live and die with me,” he stated

Political observers say Tinubu’s comments reflect his longstanding reputation as a pro-democracy advocate. During Nigeria’s military era in the 1990s, he was among political figures who supported the movement for democratic reforms and the restoration of civilian rule.

Since assuming office, Tinubu has repeatedly highlighted national unity as a key priority, urging Nigerians across political, ethnic, and religious lines to work together for the country’s progress
