Alleged Kidnapper Who Flaunted Cash and Guns on Social Media Arrested in Kwara
He flaunted money and guns on social media, but it didn’t last long. Security operatives have arrested an alleged kidnapper in Kwara, exposing a gang linked to crimes across northern Nigeria.
Security operatives have arrested a suspected kidnapper identified as Abubakar Usman, popularly known as Siddi, in Kwara State.
According to security sources, the suspect was recently seen on social media flaunting large sums of money and firearms before his arrest.
Usman was apprehended in Siddi community in the Baruten area of Kwara State following an intelligence operation by security agencies.
The suspect, said to be about 40 years old, was arrested alongside another suspect identified as Shehu Muhammad. Authorities said the two men are currently in the custody of security agencies for further investigation.
During the operation, security operatives reportedly recovered a motorcycle valued at about ₦1 million, which investigators believe may have been used for criminal activities.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Usman allegedly belonged to a criminal gang involved in kidnapping and other violent crimes across parts of northern Nigeria.
Security sources said the gang has been linked to criminal activities in states including Zamfara State, Sokoto State, and Niger State.
Authorities said investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspects’ activities and identify other members of the gang.
The arrests come amid continued security operations aimed at tackling kidnapping and banditry in several parts of the country.
