Help Me Leave This Place Alive’: Kidnapped Nigerian Pleads For Help As Gunmen Demand N100Million Ransom

A Nigerian man identified simply as Adegoke has cried out for help from a kidnappers’ hideout after armed bandits abducted him and demanded a ransom of N100 million for his release.

In a distress video obtained by SaharaReporters, several heavily armed bandits were seen surrounding the victim inside what appeared to be a remote forest location.
The gunmen, wielding rifles, were also seen barricading Adegoke as they forced him to record a video message appealing for help.
In the footage, Adegoke looked visibly distressed as he pleaded with Nigerians, friends, and family members to assist in raising the ransom demanded by his abductors so he could regain his freedom.

Speaking in the video, he said the kidnappers had assured him that he would be released if the ransom was paid.
“Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters. My name is Adegoke. I was on my way on Saturday, the 6th of March 2026, to Sokoto when I was apprehended on the way,” he said.
He continued, explaining the condition given by his captors for his release.
“The ransom has been set at 100 million naira. Please, brothers and sisters, I’m begging and pleading that you guys should please help me so that I can leave this place alive. The people have granted me, they promised that as long as the ransom is paid, they will allow me to go,” he said.
In the emotional appeal, Adegoke repeatedly begged Nigerians to assist him in any way possible so he could escape the captivity.
“Please, I am begging you, help me with whatever you can so that I can leave this place alive,” he said.
He ended the video with another desperate appeal.
“I beg you all, please help me so that I can leave this place alive. Thank you.”
Kidnapping for ransom has become rampant in several parts of Nigeria in recent years, particularly along highways and in rural communities, where armed groups frequently target travellers and residents.
Security agencies have repeatedly promised to clamp down on banditry and kidnapping networks across the country, especially in northern states where many victims are often taken into forests and held until ransom payments are made.
